In autumn 2008, the Praxis Group established new overseas offices in Geneva and Malta in order to broaden our client offering. A further new office is being opened in Luxembourg before the end of September 2009 to complete our expansion into mainland Europe.

Geneva
The Geneva office, headed by Fritha Younger, is a fiduciary services operation and enables our clients to choose to have their offshore structures administered in Switzerland rather than in Guernsey. This move was in response to client demand as an increasing number of our clients have other financial interests in Geneva and find it easier to have their fiduciary structures administered there. Geneva is also going to be a very important hub for the delivery of our family office and consolidated financial reporting services. For further details visit www.praxisgroup.ch

Malta
The Malta office, headed by Nick Mahy, has been established as a fund administration operation. Through the Malta business we can establish Maltese (i.e. EU) funds and also carry out certain outsourced fund administration functions in relation to funds which are currently administered from Guernsey. Malta benefits from an attractive tax regime, including an extensive network of double taxation treaties, while it also has a very well-educated local labour pool. For further details please visit www.pfs.gg

Luxembourg
The Luxembourg office is to be run by Robert Kimmels and will specialise in the administration of Luxembourg investment funds and special purpose companies. Luxembourg companies are very widely used by non-EU investors making investments into the EU, benefiting from Luxembourg's double tax treaty network to minimise tax leakage from the investment.

Full details of all three new offices and their areas of specialisation will be provided in a special October edition of this newsletter.
